Work Location & Schedule

• Initial onboarding: For the first 2-4 weeks, the selected consultant may be required to work on-site at 815 11th St, Huntsville, TX 77340.
• Ongoing work arrangement: This role may be remote, in-office, or a hybrid combination, based on project needs.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team on a W2 basis to provide specialized application development and architecture services supporting business applications related to our Huntsville, Texas client's Information Technology System (CITS). The consultant will translate operational business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical architectures and will guide multi-team implementation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a recognized expert in translating operational business needs into technology architecture and system design, supporting complex applications.
• Develop physical system architecture to guide design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Identify and address key architecture considerations (performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and integration).
• Build and maintain physical and logical models that balance and integrate data, processing, and technology components.
• Resolve issues involving technology components responsible for functional capabilities, including cross-technology communication and integration.
• Publish, update, and maintain architecture documentation to ensure alignment with business requirements and architecture standards.
• Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams across multiple service providers and stakeholders.
• Apply systems development processes and methodologies to deliver timely, high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with systems development processes and methodologies
• Strong ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional, multi-provider teams
• Strong knowledge of relational database technologies and performance/scalability considerations
• Ability to work constructively and collaboratively across technical and non-technical groups
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate technical/operational risks
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of internet/intranet opportunities and challenges
• Awareness of IT trends, emerging technologies, and architecture/information management methodologies

Required Experience

• 8 years of consulting experience
• 4 yearsof experience with:
  • Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, jQuery
  • SQL Server, XML, HTML
  • Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Struts
  • GitHub Enterprise, Azure Data Studio
• 2 yearsof experience with:
  • Cloud platforms (AWS-centric or hybrid)
  • Databricks platform
  • API development
  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA)
  • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
  • GitHub Copilot

Preferred Experience

• 2 years working on highly complex systems within our client's environments.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; preference for mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related IT-focused discipline.
