We are urgently seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in software license management and compliance to support a major state agency. The selected consultant will help assess the current DB2 environment, reconcile deployments with entitlement/licensing terms, and assist in bringing software license agreements into compliance.

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, Texas, with onsite work required as directed by the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support DB2 database environments (installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting).
  • Review and interpret software license agreements and entitlement documentation.
  • Perform licensing discovery and usage analysis to validate compliance (products/editions/features and deployment footprint as applicable).
  • Create and support compliance remediation plans; partner with technical and procurement/vendor stakeholders.
  • Prepare compliance documentation, reporting, and audit support materials.
  • Support DB2 platforms on AIX/UNIX/Linux and leverage scripting to automate data collection and reporting.

Requirements

  • 8 years DB2 database administration experience
  • 8 years experience working with and/or managing software license agreements/compliance
  • 2 years AIX/UNIX/Linux platform experience
  • 2 years shell scripting/programming (bash/ksh, etc.)

Preferred

  • 8 years experience with DB2 licensing / IBM Passport Advantage
  • 5 years supporting DB2 on AIX
