We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Admin/Developer for a hybrid contract position and are looking for local candidates who currently live in Austin, Texas, and can attend an on-site interview.
Must have at least 10 years of experience in software development and 7 years in ServiceNow. Must have strong skills with SAM/HAM, CMDB, and SPM.
As a Sr. ServiceNow Administrator/Developer, you will move us into the future by automating our business processes through gathering requirements, configuring/developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software releases. As a highly trained and experienced technology expert who is a self-starter, I work as part of the ServiceNow work team, where we have respect for each other and collaborate on a daily basis to improve the needs of our team while working under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Service Management / ServiceNow Administration & Development - 55%
Provides technical leadership for the ServiceNow system enhancements and process improvements.
- This will include: analyzing complex problems, designing maintainable solutions, building/coding solutions in the ServiceNow platform to address customer needs, as well as conducting code reviews to ensure system integrity with peers, maintaining existing applications and implementing additional applications, being familiar with Client Scripts, Business Rules, Data Policies, and Access Control Lists, scripting experience (preferred), writing SQL reports/queries and upgrading the ServiceNow Platform on a regular basis.
- Provide technical support to ServiceNow Administrators and business unit personnel in executing and managing test processes and in establishing the environments used to test final deliverables.
- Work with other ServiceNow team members to troubleshoot and develop mitigation plans for resolving problems.
- Ensure ongoing problem determination and resolution activities.
Release Management - 20%
- Oversees release activities of assigned applications with all appropriate areas, including business customers.
- Identifies all implementation deliverables and verifies they are ready to be installed in the environment.
- Determines the cause of application or environment problems by gathering information related to the problem; identifies appropriate resolution options; obtains appropriate approval; and coordinates the execution of the selected option.
Technical Requirements, Analysis. Documentation & Education - 15%
- Assists Product Owner in gathering business requirements and gathering technical requirements to determine and author plans, goals, and objectives to support business needs as well as technical processes.
- Develops and presents system options and products to solve business or technological needs or issues.
- Maintain knowledge and technical understanding of relevant technology updates and new releases.
- Conducts research on new software development, methodologies, and technologies and analyzes their application to current needs.
- Documents processes for team use as well as customer-facing use.
- Continue learning and staying abreast of the latest updates in the ServiceNow community to support the ongoing growth of the Service Management and Project Management applications for our org.
Technical Research and Evaluation - 5%
- Conducts research on new software development, methodologies, and technologies and analyzes their application to current needs.
Departmental Support - 5%
- Performs related work as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Ten (10) years of experience in IT Software Development Lifecycle Methodology, including Software analysis, development, implementation, and documentation.
- Seven (7) years of SDLC experience in ServiceNow
- Seven (7) years of SDLC experience with ITSM
- Four (4) years of SDLC experience with ITBM
- Two (2) years of experience in SDLC using Flow Designer
- Four (4) years of experience in integrating ServiceNow with 3rd-party applications
Registration, Certification, or Licensure:

Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems.
