Salesforce Configuration Developer (Hybrid - Austin, TX)
Position Summary
The Salesforce Configuration Developer provides hands-on Salesforce platform configuration and declarative development support for Salesforce-based solutions at our Austin, Texas client. This role supports the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of Salesforce functionality in alignment with approved business requirements, architectural direction, and client standards. The position partners closely with business stakeholders, project resources, and Salesforce technical leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure Salesforce using declarative tools such as Flows, validation rules, approval processes, page layouts, record types, and other automation features.
- Implement and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, relationships, and security (profiles, roles, permission sets, sharing).
- Deliver enhancements, fixes, and configuration changes based on documented and approved requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project coordination resources, and Salesforce architects to translate needs into implemented functionality.
- Support testing activities including unit testing, UAT support, and validation of configuration changes.
- Assist with deployments of configuration changes using client approved tools and processes (e.g., CI/CD with source control).
- Troubleshoot and resolve Salesforce configuration and functional issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for implemented functionality, configuration decisions, and change history.
- Provide ongoing Salesforce platform administration support as requested.
- Perform general Salesforce configuration and declarative development services to support effective Salesforce service delivery.
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer for a Hybrid assignment (potentially 1 day per week in Austin office) supporting a major state agency modernization effort involving Legislative Bill Tracking, Fiscal Note Generation, internal legislative/subpoena/contract workflows, and AI-assisted analysis platforms. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise Salesforce solutions in a secure Government Cloud environment while supporting mission-critical business operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building Apex classes, Lightning Web Components (LWC), OmniStudio components (FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures), and enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, and DocuSign. This role also requires experience with Salesforce Agentforce (Einstein), including prompt orchestration, AI guardrails, auditability, and secure generative AI capabilities supporting legislative and fiscal analysis.
The developer will work within Agile Scrum teams, participate in all phases of the SDLC, provide technical input for story refinement and sprint planning, perform unit and integration testing, support UAT, and contribute to secure deployment processes using Copado DevOps pipelines. Additional responsibilities include supporting Salesforce Data Cloud initiatives, coordinating integrations with external systems such as SharePoint, REVS, TLO/Telicon, analyzing application performance, and mentoring development staff.

- 5 years - Salesforce Flows and process automation
- 5 years - Agile/Scrum delivery, technical leadership, and code reviews
- 4 years - CI/CD, Git, and Salesforce DX (SFDX)
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud experience (4 years)
- Experience Cloud experience (3 years)
- Enterprise integration platform experience (3 years) - e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification
- Public Sector Salesforce experience (2 years)
