We are seeking a Strong Project Manager for a long term contract position working on our W2 with our Austin, Texas client. You will need to live within one hour of Austin and will support Data Center Operations - AI & Application Platform for Excellence (APEX), hub and spoke, cloud infrastructure on public cloud providers Azure and AWS. This position will focus on project management efforts related to APEX cloud infrastructure, working closely with the client's APEX cloud technical team, APEX customers, and 3rd party vendors.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience
• Experience and skill in overseeing, coordinating, and analyzing the development and documentation of information systems and technical requirements.
• Has experience with project initiation, project planning and discovery, project execution, project monitoring and project closure.
• Skill in project management risk mitigation by identifying roadblocks, bottle necks and potential risks before they occur.
• Experience with coordinating and working with highly advanced IT team members.
• Has managed projects for solution architects, engineers, system analysts/administrators and/or database administrators.
• Leverages an understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, Agile principles and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) practices.
• Experience in production operations by ensuring reliable, consistent delivery (and improvement) of IT services to end-users for operational efficiency such as assisting with and implementing team policy, standards and guidelines to align with agency and team best practices.
• Skill in supporting multiple projects, team schedules and ability to keep the team organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft business computer applications, collaboration tools and project management software: Jira, MS Project, Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
• Skill in effective written and oral communication, excellent communication skills to successfully lead projects to completion.
• Experience and understanding of cloud providers (and their service models) at least one of the following Azure, AWS, OCI, and/or GCP), cloud technologies and basic cloud networking.
• Experience working with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) ticketing systems BMC Remedy/Helix and/or ServiceNow.
Preferred:
• ITIL foundations certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology, computer science, project management, business administration, or related study.
• Highly organized, responsive and highly detailed problem solver.
• One or more Cloud certifications such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure and/or equivalent work experience.
• Worked for or have experience with Texas Health and Human Services Commission or other Texas state IT agencies.
